Who is Dreamcatcher?

Dreamcatcher ( a.k.a. 드림캐쳐, Deukae, DC) is a 7 Member Korean Girlgroup who is known for their rock metal genre under Dreamcatcher Company (former Happyface Entertainment).


About the Group

Prior to Dreamcatcher, 5 of the 7 members debuted as Minx in 2014, but unfortunately they were unsuccessful. The company decided to change all the staffs and producers of Minx and have them redebuted. In 2017, they reformed as Dreamcatcher, with two new members, Gahyeon and Handong.


Popularity of Dreamcatcher

South Korea has a wide variety of Girlgroups and Boygroups, some of which are successful while others are underappreciated. Dreamcatcher was regarded as an underrated group, despite international recognition, their popularity in Korea was not that known.


InSomnia (Fandom Name)

On March 10, 2018, Dreamcatcher posted a video announcing their official fandom name to be "InSomnia". The name is derived from the Latin word 'Somnium' and its plural form 'Somnia', which means "dream" or "fantasy".


Dreamcatcher Lightstick and Robe

On Dreamcatcher's Fourth Debut Anniversary they revealed their lightstick and robe. They called it "mongmongie", mong in korean means "dream" or "to dream". It is believed to be the longest lightstick in Kpop World.
